Slow charging is a type of electric car charging which uses a charger that delivers low power levels, typically up to 3.7 kW. Slow chargers are usually 3-pin plugs or lower-grade wallbox chargers, most commonly found in the home and some workplaces.

How long does it take to charge using a slow EV charger?

Slow charging typically takes anywhere between 6 and 12 hours and is usually done overnight. Slow chargers are a more affordable option and have been said to be better for the health of EV batteries. However, they are considerably slower than fast chargers, rapid chargers and ultra-rapid chargers.
