What is a Combined Charging System or CCS?
A Combined Charging System (CCS) is a type of rapid electric car charger which allows both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) charging. Almost all brand-new, all-electric vehicles feature a CCS plug and they are commonly found across Europe and North America.
How do Combined Charging Systems work?
CCS connectors look very similar to Type 2 connectors but they have two additional connector holes. The CCS charging connector supports both slower AC charging and rapid DC charging.
