Audi is enhancing its UK model line-up by offering high-spec Black Edition and Vorsprung trim levels across its range of cars.
Vorsprung – coming from Audi’s slogan ‘vorsprung durch technik, which translates as ‘lead by technology’ – becomes the new range-topping trim level for the A5 range, as well as on the Q5 SUV and A7 Sportback. The trim is already offered on the Q7 and Q8, which are Audi’s largest SUVs.
This trim level brings a host of tech, including adaptive suspension to improve comfort, as well as safety assists such as park assist, lane-change and lane-keep assist, and technology that helps when reversing out of obstructed parking spaces.
Further Vorsprung features include a panoramic sunroof, either a Bose or Bang & Olusfen sound system, fancy Matrix LED headlights, and also a gesture-controlled electric boot. Depending on the model, Vorsprung can also add heated rear seats, Alcantara headlining and soft-close doors.
Black Edition is a trim that’s been widely offered across the Audi range in the past. It’s already an option on the A3, S3, A4, TT and Q7, but buyers will now be able to add the style-led grade to the A5 line-up, as well as the Q2 crossover and Q5.
Black Edition is essentially an extension of the German firm’s popular ‘S line’ trim, but adds large gloss black alloy wheels, as well as matt grey or black exterior accents to the grille, rear diffuser and door mirrors. The interior also benefits from darker privacy glass, a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel and the same matching-coloured grey or black accents that the exterior receives.
Audi has said that these range-topping trim levels have been added to further models in response to growing demand for high-spec cars.
The Black Edition line-up starts from £26,845 for the A3 and rises to £67,295 for the Q7.
The Vorsprung range kicks off from £48,875 for an A5 and goes all the way up to £83,040 for a Q8 Vorsprung.
