Vauxhall has issued prices for its new warm hatch – the Corsa GSi – with the model costing from £18,995.
The GSi nameplate has been revived recently by Vauxhall, and first featured earlier in the year on Insignia GSi, and now on this – the Corsa GSi.
Designed to be more of a warm hatch, it sits underneath the now discontinued VXR model in the range.
The Corsa GSi uses a turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol engine which develops 148bhp and 220Nm of torque – allowing for a 0-60mph sprint in 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 129mph.
Standard equipment on the model includes 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, a leather flat-bottomed steering wheel as well as Vauxhall’s latest infotainment system – Navi R4.0 – which includes satellite navigation and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
It also includes a GSi styling pack, which comprises a spoiler, sports grille, redesigned bumpers and side sills, tinted rear windows and the door mirrors and grille bar finished in carbon effect trim.
The Corsa GSi is £1,000 more expensive than the Suzuki Swift Sport and similarly priced to Ford Fiesta ST, which produces 50bhp more and is 2.5 seconds faster to accelerate to 60mph.
A ‘GSi Plus Pack’ can also be specified for £1,900, which adds 18-inch diamond cut alloys, Recaro leather seats and bi-Xenon headlights with cornering function.
First deliveries are expected from September, although If you are interested in buying a used Corsa, please click here to search thousands of Corsas near you.
