SEAT has released details of its all-new SUV – the Ateca.

The Ateca is the first SUV venture for the Spanish brand, with the UK Launch scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2016. 

1.0 TSI 115 and 1.4 TSI 190 horsepower turbocharged petrol engines will be available from launch and promise competitive C02 and consumption figures of 112-131 g/km and 53-46mpg respectively.

Powerful and efficient turbo diesel engines are also available with 1.6-litre 115hp TDI and 2.0-litre 150 and 190hp versions achieving between 56 and 66mpg and 112 to 131 g/km. 

With manual and DSG transmissions are available with the option of two or all wheel drive as well, Ateca offers a wide range of specification combinations.

The Ateca takes styling cues from is handsome Leon hatchback cousin with added rugged elements of a bonafide crossover. 

Full-LED headlights, Traffic Jam Assist and Emergency assist are some of the options available, with the top specification model taking the Ateca XCELLENCE nomenclature. 

Pricing is as yet unannounced, with more details due to follow during the cars introduction at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
