A US motorist has had his life saved by a quick-thinking policeman, who pulled him from the burning wreck of his car.
Captured on a dash-cam mounted to a following vehicle, the dramatic footage above shows an SUV belonging to 61 year-old Gerald Ferrill, ablaze on Sunset Boulevard earlier this week.
Unconscious at the wheel, Ferrill is in danger of being killed as flames engulf his car.
Thankfully for him, officer Scott Krissinger sprung straight into action, bravely running towards the inferno and rescuing him, with little regard for his own safety.
Speaking after the event, Mr Krissinger said: “I had a million things going through my head. I think any of us officers at the Cape May Police Department, they would’ve done the same thing,” reported US network NBC10.
Amazingly, despite the car being shrouded in smoke, Krissinger returns to make sure no one else is still trapped inside.
Police captain Rob Sheehan paid tribute to his officer, saying: “He didn’t hesitate – he’s a hero in every sense of the word and we’re very happy to have him as a member of our department.”
