The Nissan Leaf is getting a new, limited edition trim level, called the N-Tec.

With only 1,000 examples being produced and each priced at £32,795 (including the £3,500 government grant), the N-Tec acts as ‘a new accessible price point for the higher 62kWh capacity battery drivetrain’, according the manufacturer.

By opting for the N-Tec trim level, buyers can expect kit such as LED fog lights with cornering function, ProPilot with lane keep assist and traffic jam pilot, an electronic parking brake, metallic blue front splitter and a revised e+ suspension set-up.

James Bird, electric vehicle product manager at Nissan GB, said: “Nissan is always looking to bring its advanced technologies to customers at ever-more accessible levels. So, we’re delighted to be introducing the N-Tec edition of the Leaf e+ which strikes a fantastic balance of price, performance and specification.”

The variant is based on the N-Connecta grade of the 40kWh line-up, but has ‘added technology and styling, complementing the higher capacity 62kWh battery’.

Launched in summer 2019, the Leaf e+ has 211bhp and 340Nm of torque, as well as up to 239 miles of range. The e+, in Tekna grade, is priced from £35,895 (including the government grant).

Bird added: “With the rapid uptake of electric vehicle sales in the UK, this new limited edition should make it even more compelling for drivers to make the switch as we accelerate towards a zero-carbon future and cleaner air for all.”
