Starting this month, Kia gives a full seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty on every car it sellsKia has extended its new car warranty to seven years across the range. Previously, its Cee’d small hatchback and Sportage off-roader had cover for that long but others in the range, such as the Soul (pictured), had a five-year warranty, while its Picanto city car made do with three years.

But from this month, any Kia will be covered until 2017 or until it has covered 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty is Kia-backed and offers the same level of cover throughout – where some others do less in the later stages of cover.

There are a few exclusions in the small print – paint is covered for five years, the stereo for just three – but, apart from the usual wear and tear exclusions, it is comprehensive.

The move puts it ahead of every other maker – Hyundai comes closest by offering a five-year warranty across all of its cars.
