Nissan’s popular Leaf EV is a sensible choice for any city driver looking to cut down on their environmental impact.

The latest, 30kWh guise was released at the end of 2015 and boasts an extended range, allowing the driver to travel up to 155 miles on one charge.

Meanwhile, those who go for the smaller battery option of 24kWh can still travel up to 124 miles without having to recharge.

With a number of options available, choosing the right Leaf could be tricky.

Luckily we’ve taken away the trouble and listed three cars available on three different budgets.

The smart choice for saving money – Leaf 24kWh Visia

For drivers with a low budget and a short commute, the Leaf 24kWh in Visia spec is the perfect choice.

With prices starting from only £21,530 the accessible model boasts a variety of features as standard. These include a rapid charge port (which allows for 50kW DC charging), hill start assist, ECO drive mode and a regenerative braking system.

Inside the comfortable cabin, the driver will find an AM/FM/CD audio system alongside Bluetooth telephone integration.

All of these features combine to make the 24kWh Visia the perfect short distance city commuter.

The smart choice for those on a budget – Leaf 30kWh Acenta

The lower-spec of the larger battery model, the Leaf 30kWh Acenta is perfect for driver wishing to venture further afield, while still on a tight budget.

With price options that start from £25,230, the 30kWh Acenta features all of the spec that the Visia does, but with a number of exciting additions.

The NissanConnect infotainment system sit proudly on the car’s dash, while a colour reversing camera makes for easier parking and a cruise control and speed limiter function provide more comfort on longer drives.

A ‘B’ mode also features on the car. This enhances regenerative braking, meaning the battery will regain more power when the driver activates the brakes.

On the outside of the car, 16 inch alloy wheels, rain sensing windscreen wipers and automatic headlights combine to give the model a sleek, and practical appeal.

The smart choice for technophiles – Leaf 30kWh Tekna

The most comprehensive, and most expensive of the Leaf range, the 30kWh Tekna, which starts from £27,230, boasts everything the technophile would want for, plus more.

On top of all the features that come as standard in the lower spec Visia and Acenta grades, the Tekna features a 7-speaker BOSE audio system and an around view monitor with park assist.

Comfort is increased with the addition of heated front and rear seats and a heated steering wheel, while heated door mirrors ensure that the driver will have a clear rear view.

Black leather seats with blue stitching and LED headlights provide the aesthetic appeal which completes the model.
