Honda has announced a new ultra-exclusive specification for its e electric city car.

Called Limited Edition, just 50 examples will be heading to Europe, with those that end up in the UK priced from £38,120. Based on high-end Advance trim, they get a variety of exterior styling upgrades which bring added presence to this compact EV.

The Limited Edtion adds a new ‘Premium Crystal Red’ exterior shade, as well as a variety of gloss black styling elements. For instance, the front and rear badges are now finished in black, while there are new 17-inch black alloy wheels included too. The e’s standard black front section ties into this overall theme too.

Because it is based on the existing Advance specification, Limited Edition cars get features such as a full-width infotainment display, heated front seats and steering wheel and LED daytime running lights. The e also incorporates a 171-litre boot, which can be expanded up to 861 litres by folding the rear seats down.

The Honda e comes equipped with a 134bhp electric motor in Advance specification, which is then linked to a 35.5kWh battery for up to 137 miles between a charge. Courtesy of that power output – as well as 315Nm of torque – Honda claims that the e should manage the 0-60mph sprint in just under nine seconds. Plus, because it can charge at speeds of up to 50kW a 0-80 per cent charge could be achieved in 35 minutes when hooked up to a rapid charger.
