Top Gear presenter Freddie Flintoff is ‘absolutely fine’ after being involved in a small incident on the same track where Richard Hammond had his infamous near-fatal crash.

The 41-year-old former cricketer was reportedly driving a high speed three-wheel vehicle when he veered off the runway. Medics sprinted over but discovered Flintoff was left unharmed, according to the Mirror.

When speaking to the paper, Flintoff said: “I’m absolutely fine.”

“I go to great lengths to make sure I do well in Top Gear drag races but on this occasion I went a few lengths too far.”

“It will look more ridiculous than dangerous when you see it on TV.”

The event follows when, in September 2006, former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond suffered a near-fatal crash at the wheel of a jet-powered dragster.

Top Gear is currently hosted by Flintoff, Paddy McGuiness and Chris Harris. The series being filmed at the moment is the second to be hosted by Flintoff and McGuiness.
