Audi has revealed the latest model in its ever-expanding SUV range – the Q3 Sportback.

The sleeker, sportier silhouette of the Sportback is based on the underpinning of the regular Q3, offering a similar package to the likes of BMW’s X4.

Of course, the lower roof does mean headroom is compromised, but courtesy of sliding rear seats, the standard Q3’s 530-litre boot capacity remains.

At launch, a trio of engine options are set to be available, with a 227bhp four-cylinder petrol unit offering the most power. A 2.0-litre diesel is also available, with either 148bhp or 187bhp. The petrol unit and the more powerful of the diesel units will come with a seven-speed automatic gearbox as standard, while the 138bhp diesel makes use of a six-speed manual.

Inside, the Q3 is typical Audi fare, with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen dominating the dashboard. The system has been slightly updated over the standard Q3, with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant software fully integrated into the infotainment setup.

While a price list is yet to be published, it is anticipated that the Q3 Sportback will be available from roughly £35,000 when it goes on sale later this year.
