Alfa Romeo has joined forces with online retailer giant Amazon to allow customers to book and arrange test drives for its Stelvio SUV through the website.

Through Amazon, customers can book a 45 minute test drive with the Stelvio at a time and place of their convenience, while the car will be delivered to them as well – as long as it’s in one of the areas covered in the offer.

An Alfa Romeo specialist will deliver the car, and will then be on hand to show potential customers in the car and accompany them during the drive. The specialists will not be selling the car, rather they will direct any enquiries through to a local Alfa Romeo dealership.

Test drives can be booked on a first come first served basis in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. Drives can only be reserved for selected weekends up until Christmas.

James Marsh, customer experience director for FCA UK, said: “The Stelvio is the first SUV from Alfa Romeo and with this new car has come fresh thinking.

“Working with Amazon on this test drive programme has given us the chance to really put our customers at the centre and make the whole process of trying a new car as convenient as possible while still allowing them to experience the Alfa Romeo passion.”

The Stelvio is Alfa Romeo’s first SUV, and follows in the same footsteps as the Italian manufacturer’s Giulia saloon. The Stelvio is priced from £36,990, and is available with both petrol and diesel engines, as well as in the powerful Quadrifoglio guise – a 4×4 which offers supercar thrills.
