What is top-up EV charging?
Top-up charging is when drivers maintain a fully charged battery by plugging in their car whenever it is parked, whether at home or in a public space. This eliminates the need to wait for the battery to drain completely before recharging.
Is top-up EV charging a good idea?
For charging performance and battery longevity, it is generally advised that you should charge your EV up to 80%. This is because charging rates slow down when you reach 80% and charging up to 100% all the time can put unnecessary strain on the battery impacting its long-term health.
