Smart EV charging is a type of electric car charging which optimises the charging process by communicating with devices such as your phone, smart meter and the grid. Through smart charging, charging is optimised based on electricity prices, the current level of EV charge and the time of day.
How does smart EV charging work?
Compatible smart chargers use algorithms and preferences set by the user to charge the EV. The smart charger then communicates with the car, the charger provider and the utility company to automatically start and stop the charging process to keep costs low and optimal.
