What is on-street charging?

On-street charging is when you charge an electric vehicle using a charger located on public streets, typically provided by local councils or private companies.

On-steet charging is a type of public charging and is the opposite of off-street charging where chargers are used in garages, driveways and other private premises.

What do on-street charging points look like?

On-street chargers are typically found in converted lampposts and purpose-built bollards. They are mainly ‘untethered’ which means you need to supply your own cable to use the charger.
