What is the Consumer Credit Directive?

The Consumer Credit Directive (CCD) was designed to standardise credit information and protect consumers in financial agreements by improving consumer rights. Under the agreement, the lender must give you standardised information to make it easier to compare offers, be transparent about the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) and accurately assess your eligibility through a credit check. Under the CCD, consumers also have the right to cancel a financial agreement within 14 days of signing.
