Bored of sleek but sensible sports coupes? Nissan seems to be too, and has decided we all need livening up a little with the 370Z Nismo.
Based on the current 370Z coupe, the Nismo wears a pumped-up body kit courtesy of the Japanese manufacturer’s tuning and racing arm of the same name. Jutting front splitters, a huge rear wing and exhaust pipes like artillery pieces all combine to give the 370Z Nismo the aesthetic aggression missing from the standard car.
There’s a touch more power from the 3.7-litre V6 engine to back up the visual menace – not that the standard 370Z was lacking. With 345bhp on tap, the Nismo will sail from 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds.
If you’re looking for a cossetting cruiser, the Nismo may be a touch hardcore for you. The suspension has been stiffened to improve handling, but makes the ride very firm – something which may prove too much on the commute. Interior refinement, too, is a tad lacking, with engine and tyre roar percolating into the cabin at high speeds.
