A stalwart of the US car market, Nissan’s upmarket sub-brand Infiniti has yet to make an impact in Europe. The brand is hoping its new model, the Q50, will change all that.
Squaring up to the dominance of the BMW 5 Series in the premium executive saloon sector is a brave move, but on the face of it the Q50 has what it takes to succeed. Not only is it crammed with technology, it’s available with both a powerful 3.5-litre V6 hybrid and a frugal 2.2-litre diesel, broadening its appeal to both performance fans and cost-conscious buyers.
Sporting a fresh, distinctly un-German design, the Q50 is undoubtedly something different. And, unlike its rivals, the Infiniti bonnet badge is also free from any undesirable brand associations. Should it make your shortlist? Click play above to find out.
