It’s the latest offering from McLaren, and as you might guess, it’s pretty special.

This single-seater boasts an all-electric powertrain and a vibrant Volcano Yellow paintjob, and a teaser video has revealed it making its track debut at Goodwood Race Circuit.

Behind the wheel sits Leo, a talented driver despite his young age. As the light turns green, he accelerates off the line, reaching the car’s maximum speed in just two seconds.

This speed, however, is a low 3mph, and Leo is only four. He is aboard the British carmaker’s all-new McLaren P1 ride-on, a diminutive model aimed at children aged six and under.

Designed to replicate the original P1, which costs around £1million, the £375.00 ride-on boasts a central driving position, stop/start button and even McLaren’s signature dihedral doors. Meanwhile, three forward gears, and one reverse allow the child easy maneuverability.

The piece de resistance is the standard MP3 player and audio system, which comes pre-programmed with a number of popular nursery rhymes.

The new model is available now at selected McLaren retailers, and will soon be available from recognised global toy retailers.
