Suzuki has revealed the specifications of its all-new compact crossover, the Ignis.

The model, which will go on sale in the UK and Republic of Ireland from January 2017, will be available from less than £10,000.

There are three different guises: SZ3, SZ-T and SZ5, which will be priced from £9,999, £11,499 and £12,999 respectively.

As standard, the entry level model will include six airbags, air conditioning, DAB radio with Bluetooth, 15-inch wheels, body coloured door mirrors, front electric windows and five seat capacity.

Meanwhile, the middling option will bring satnav, a rear view camera, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, wheel arch extensions and a four-seat capacity with individually sliding rear seats.

Finally, the SZ5 adds auto air conditioning, Dual Camera Brake Support – a system which can gauge the distance and shape of objects ahead and assist with breaking in emergencies – keyless entry and start, rear electric windows, LED headlights with DRL and front foglamps.

This top spec model is also available with Suzuki’s AllGrip ‘Auto’ 4WD system.

Only one engine, the 89bhp 1.2-litre four cylinder Dualjet engine will be offered, producing CO2 emissions of 104g/km and achieving a combined fuel consumption of 61.4mpg.

This powertrain can be specified with the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) system, which will lower the car’s CO2 emissions to 97g/km and improve combined fuel consumption to 65.7mpg.

The distinctive Ignis, which measure just 3.7metres long, will be available in 11 colours. Full personalisation options will available for both exterior and interior trim, to allow owners to customise their cars extensively.

Thanks to its low price, and appealing small package, Suzuki has estimated 2017 UK Ignis sales of more than 6,000 units, and a total of 35,000 in Europe.
