Skoda has shown off new tech available in its Scala hatchback, which could ease the plight of hay fever sufferers everywhere.

The Scala’s Climatronic air conditioning system protects from pollen by filtering it out as part of an energy-saving recirculation mode that goes some way to reduce the symptoms of sneezing, coughing and itchy eyes.

The system also utilises sensors both inside and outside the car to gauge temperature and humidity, as well as the intensity of the sunlight shining into the car. Using the data accumulated from the sensors, the air conditioning temperature then adjusts automatically.

This system has been painstakingly tested in all conditions and traffic scenarios, and is fitted as standard on the Scala SE L, which is available at a starting price of £19,585.

Since the Scala has only just arrived on UK forecourts, its used presence is currently limited. However, you can check out used deals on all Skodas here on
