Volvo has revealed its eagerly awaited V90 estate.

With a long history of producing reliable and spacious estate cars, Volvo was keen to impress with its latest offering.

The V90 is one of three top-of-the-range cars offered by the Swedish manufacturer, and debuts an impressive level of semi-autonomous technology. It also offers a comprehensive safety system, including Large Animal Detection and Run-off Road Mitigation. It also features Apple’s CarPlay, which allows users to seamlessly pair the V90 with their Apple smartphone.

Thomas Ingenlath, senior vice president for design at Volvo Cars, said: “The modern premium estate is all about the intriguing combination of a luxurious experience with the functional origins of the estate silhouette.

“The sophisticated ambience of our new Volvo interiors is combined with a great cargo space, providing the right kind of functionality – whether through connectivity or cargo and storage solutions.”

Pilot Assist system also uses semi-autonomous technology to drive the car down the road with only one hand on the wheel from the driver needed upon the wheel.

A range of engines are offered with the V90 Estate, including a T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid, which delivers around 410bhp and a pure electric range of around 31 miles – giving drivers a greater amount of flexibility when driving the alternatively-powered V90.

Hakan Samuelsson, president and chief executive of Volvo Cars, said: “We have a very strong position in the estate segment.

“In many people’s minds we are known as the definitive estate brand. We are proud to carry forward this rich heritage with the V90.”
