Jaguar’s new F-Type Coup? was launched at a star-studded event in Los Angeles lastnight.
The launch party featured guest attendances from celebrities such as music impresario Simon Cowell, actors Nicholas Hoult and Joe Manganiello, singer Kelly Osbourne, and models Jodie Kidd, Miranda Kerr and David Gandy.
The unveiling took place at Raleigh Studios in Playa Vista, California, and commenced with the new F-Type R Coup? accelerating toward the grandstand before passing beneath the audience’s seats and taking up position on stage.
During the event, Hoult tweeted a picture: “Quality night with @JaguarUSA checking out the new #FTYPECOUPE. It sounds phenomenal, proud to be British.”
As if to prove that point, Jaguar has since release a video of the new F-Type R’s exhaust noise, which you can see above.
DJ Pete Tong, who was also in attendance, tweeted a picture of the new car, accompanied simply by the caption: “Mmmmmm #greatbritishdesign”
The new Coup? version of the F-Type will come in three different versions, the most powerful being the new F-Type R.
This will feature a version of Jaguar’s supercharged 5.0-litre V8 that kicks out 543bhp, and isn’t available in the convertible version.
There’ll also be an F-Type S, which features the same 375bhp supercharged V6 as the F-Type V6 S roadster, and a base-spec model known simply as the F-Type Coup?, which will use the F-Type V6 soft-top’s 335bhp version of the same engine.
Prices will start at £51,235 for the base model, and will rise to £85,000 for the top-of-the-range F-Type R.
