Two new Alpine A110 versions to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show

Alpine has announced that two new versions of its A110 sports car will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Up until now, the only model available to purchase has been the A110 Premiere Edition, which could be ordered by a mobile phone app. Just 1,995 of these units were allocated, with the only colours available being blue, black and pearlescent white.

Alpine has now said that a ‘Pure’ trim will replace the Premiere of the car as the standard model, while a more comfortable trim will also be available – named ‘Légende’.

Pure is the more driver-focused car, which the manufacturer saying it is “destined to live its life on winding mountain roads”, and remains fixed to Alpine’s minimalist way of thinking.

Légende is aimed at those wanting more comfort from their A110, and is the more GT-style version. It comes with six-way adjustable seats, leather upholstery and gloss carbon fibre interior trim.

The A110 comes with a 1.8-litre petrol engine that produces 249bhp. It’s paired to a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission, and has been widely praised for the way it drives by the motoring press.

Alpine is a part of Groupe Renault, and is being sold out of 60 European Renaultsport dealerships – seven of these being in the UK. They include London, Manchester, Glasgow, St Albans, Orpington, Solihull and Winchester. These dealers are set to open in the second quarter of 2018, coinciding with the arrival of the first UK customer cars arriving.

Three new colours will also be available, although Alpine has not released any more information yet. Further details of both cars will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6.
