Audi has confirmed that two “completely new” RS models will be among a total of six that are still to be revealed in 2019, as the performance badge celebrates 25 years on the forecourt.
It is expected that Audi’s SUV line-up will be where the all-new RS models will be found, potentially based on the larger models such as the Q7 or the flagship Q8; of course, some of the smaller SUVs in the line-up are also yet to see the RS treatment, so they may also factor in to Audi’s plan.
Other models expected to come from Audi’s performance arm include the latest versions of both the RS6 and RS7.
Oliver Hoffmann, managing director of Audi Sport GmbH, said: “For 25 years, our customers have been experiencing the RS models as masterful companions for everyday life that convey pure emotion and maximum driving enjoyment.”
The first of the RS models is now one of the most sought-after performance cars of the 1990s, the RS2 Avant. Built in limited numbers in collaboration with Porsche, it would certainly be a second-hand buy that could break the bank.
Happily, not all RS models are as pricey; for an example of that, check out the latest deals on the Audi RS4 on Motors.co.uk.
