To welcome the 2019 version and celebrate the 20th anniversary if the model’s introduction on the market, Toyota has unveiled a limited-run Yaris.
The Yaris Y20 comes with an exclusive exterior finish to mirror that of the first Yaris model when it displayed back in 1998 and also commemorates the Japanese brand’s most successful supermini to go on sale in Europe.
Toyota will build 1,998 units of this limited-run Launch Edition models – all of which come with a gold and grey dual-tone body, grey detailing to the grille and side mouldings, and chrome detailing to the fog light surrounds, as well as 16-inch 10-spoke alloys. Y20 designation can also be found on the pillars at the rear.
Inside, the Y20 has a mostly grey colour scheme to match the outside, and also includes chequered upholstery, satin chrome surrounds to the air vents, speakers and dials, black carpets with silver edging and Y20 badging to the instrument panel.
When the 2019 model year Yaris goes on sale, a full-production version of the Y20 will be available with a dual-tone bodywork with the choice of white, black or silver to contrast the grey roof.
Toyota will be giving the Y20 its public debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show on October 2, where it will also introduce the 2019 Yaris range – 20 years on from when the Yaris was first-revealed in Paris.
