Residents of Bristol had quite a shock last weekend as Iron Man was spotted parading around the city in a new special edition Hyundai.

The Marvel character was seen taking a dog for a walk, before heading through a KFC drive-thru and going to a local tip. Just your average Saturday, right?

Iron Man also headed to Clifton Village—one of Bristol’s upmarket areas—for his weekly shop and a visit to the opticians.

Unsurprisingly, Iron Man’s presence was a publicity stunt by Hyundai, who were showing off their new Kona Iron Man Edition.

Inspired by the Marvel superhero film franchise, Hyundai has reworked its popular small crossover to include as many Iron Man references as possible.

This means it comes with matte grey paint with contrasting red accents, along with two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels which feature Iron Man logos on the wheel caps.

Other differences over the standard Kona include leather seats with red stitching, which are also embossed with an Iron Man image. And just in case you forget that you’re driving a superhero-inspired car, Hyundai has given the model puddle lights which project an Iron Man logo onto the floor when the door is opened.

Ashley Andrew, managing director at Hyundai Motor UK, said: “The Kona Iron Man Edition will be a unique ownership experience, combining the Kona’s style, technology and performance with a slice of superhero fun.”

Just 300 Kona Iron Man Editions are being brought over to the UK, which features the firm’s powerful turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine.

Prices start from £27,995, with deliveries expected to start from March 1.

Should the Iron Man Edition be a bit over-the-top for your tastes, you can have the Kona in its standard guise, with prices starting from £17,100 for the petrol version, and £20,100 for the diesel. The Kona is also offered in a pure-electric guise, which offers a realistic range of 250 miles.
