Motors.co.uk's winning reviewers drive a Lamborghini Ever wondered what it’s like to drive a Lamborghini? For an answer, ask any of our Real ReView winners team. Each drove one of the rarest and most coveted of Italian supercars at a special review day out, organised by Motors.co.uk as part of their prize.
And not just any Lamborghini. They took the wheel of the 631bhp LP640, A £220,000 machine that’s among the rarest of the marque and one of the few cars in the UK. After a lap as a passenger, they took to a 1.5 mile race circuit at Elvington airfield, near York to reach speeds of up to 110mph. And, if that wasn’t enough, they then went on to drive an Ariel Atom, a stripped down, 300bhp two-seater that covers 0-60mph in 2.7sec and reaches 100mph in a touch over 10sec.
But the day wasn’t just about play. Our team got down to the more serious business of giving their verdicts on a string of more workaday models: the Seat Ibiza Ecomotive, Peugeot’s 308 1.6 HDi 90 S, Volkswagen’s Beetle 1.6 Luna, Skoda’s Octavia Estate 2.0T vRS, the Mazda CX-7 and the Land Rover Freelander 2.2 TD4 HSE auto.
Real ReViewer Stuart Tidman, a bus driver from Nuneaton, described the days as ‘one of the most enjoyable and amazing days of my entire life’. Stuart and the others, who you can meet by clicking here, entered the Real ReView competition, which Motors.co.uk launched, at the start of the year. Soon an ultimate winner will be chosen from among them, to gain an expenses-paid trip to the Geneva Motor Show, 2009.
Watch our Real ReViewers and, if you think you can do as well or even better, here’s how to enter the Real Review competition.
