Honda’s new CR-V Hybrid will be on sale from £29,105, the manufacturer has announced.
The new petrol-electric model will join the existing 1.5-litre petrol in the overall CR-V line-up.
For £29,105, you will be getting the base model ‘S’ trim, which is only available as a front-wheel drive. The other trims – or grades, as Honda labels them – are SE, SR and the top-spec EX.
All cars come with Honda’s SENSING safety features as standard. This includes forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition. In other words, there is plenty of tech to catch you if you or another motorist slip up.
The £30,100 SE adds parking sensors and a rear-view camera, while the £32,580 SR grade adds blind spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, keyless entry and leather upholstery.
Opting for four-wheel drive costs £1,100 for both the SE and SR models, while the range-topping EX trim is only available in 4WD configuaration. The most luxurious version of the CR-V Hybrid will cost £36,390, and comes with additional features such as a heated steering wheel, head-up display, power tailgate and panoramic sunroof.
All models use a 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor, giving a total output of 181bhp. Fuel economy is rated at 53.3mpg.
The CR-V Hybrid is set to go on sale in the UK for February 2019, and serves as the starting point for Honda’s long-term aim to have two-thirds of its European sales made up of hybrid or electric cars by 2025.
