Lotus has confirmed that its all-electric hypercar will make its world debut in central London on July 16.
The project was confirmed in April at the Shanghai International Auto Show, and since then, several hundred potential customers have declared an interest in the vehicle.
Lotus has announced 130 of these potential customers will be able to buy the car. The project is aptly codenamed Type 130 as the 130thproject worked on by the British firm since it was founded in 1948.
The brand – which was purchased by Chinese firm Geely in 2017 – says that the upcoming hypercar will be the most ‘dynamically accomplished’ car ever produced at their factory in Hethel, Norfolk.
In addition to the news that the car will get its full reveal in July, a short teaser video was also posted.
The first customer deliveries of the Type 130 are expected to occur in 2020.
Speaking at the Shanghai International Auto Show announcement in April, Lotus CEO Phil Popham said of the project: “It marks a turning point for our brand and is a showcase of what we are capable of and what is to come from Lotus.”
