Lexus announces prices for new LS 500H

Lexus has announced that prices for its new LS 500h saloon will start from £72,595.

Nearly all of Lexus’ current models – minus its performance cars and the entry level IS – are now hybrids, and the new LS is no exception. Now in its fifth-generation, the new LS has received the Japanese firm’s trademark huge front grille and also a range of new safety technology.

There are three trim levels on top of the standard LS 500h, called Luxury, F Sport and Premier. All-wheel-drive is available on the Luxury and Premier models.

Every model is well-equipped with even the standard model receiving 20-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with high beam assist, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, 360-degree surround monitoring and electronically adjustable leather seats with heating and ventilation features. Prices start from £72,595 for this model.

The Luxury model costs from £79,995 and adds four-zone climate control, a 23-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, and heated and ventilated rear seats. All-wheel-drive can be chosen on this variant for £2,600 extra.

Next is the ‘sporty’ F Sport specification. It has F Sport seats, black wheel callipers, and a different steering wheel with gearshift paddles. Its dynamics have been mildly tweaked with different gear ratios and dynamic rear steering. The F Sport costs the same as the Luxury at £79,995.

The range-topping car is the Premier, which costs significantly more than the other trims at £97,995. It features massaging seats and a front seat relaxation package, rear-seat entertainment and electric rear seats that can be moved 22 ways. A Premier trim car with all-wheel-drive will cost a hefty £105,595.

Safety is also a key focus on the new LS, which has the Safety System+ package fitted as standard across the range. It features pre-collision warning, dynamic cruise control, lane keeping assist and traffic sign recognition.

Order books are now open, with first deliveries due in early 2018.
