With Toyota’s new Supra looming ever closer to going on sale, reservations are now being taken from the Japanese firm’s UK division.
The new Supra, developed in collaboration with BMW and its impending new Z4, will be arriving in the UK next year. Eager enthusiasts can now secure a place in the order books, which they will certainly need to do if they want access to the first examples to arrive on our shores. Just 300 cars will be available for British customers to buy in 2019.
Once the initial 300 UK vehicles are spoken for, other interested customers will be assigned a place on the waiting list.
A £1,000 deposit will be taken, and refunded if the customer changes their mind; order books will open in 2019.
Andrew Cullis, Toyota GB marketing director, said: “The new Toyota Supra is a thoroughbred sports car with huge appeal to customers who are seeking a great driving experience and exclusivity. With only limited numbers available, we want to give people the earliest opportunity to secure their vehicle.”
With over 300bhp from a straight-six engine, and a traditional front engine, rear-wheel drive layout, the new Supra is looking to stay loyal to the recipe cemented by previous generations.
Final pre-production examples of the Supra have been shown off at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the full production model is set to debut at January’s Detroit Motor Show.
