Former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are reportedly developing their own media platform, designed to provide content and videos for motorists.
DriveTribe is being financed by the three presenters, as well as the producer of their current show, Andy Wilman. Technology entrepreneur Ernesto Schmitt is also working alongside the trio.
The site is due to be divided into three ‘tribes’, with each one hosted by one of the motoring stars. Here, each presenter alongside bloggers and videographers, will create videos and content for fans. Each tribe will have its own distinct personality and voice.
This means that motorists interested in certain areas of driving will be able to find just that – stories and videos that cater for specific interests.
Each tribe will undoubtedly follow a theme created by one of the trio, setting the tone for each individual area of the site. There’s a good chance it will take influence from some of their adventures on screen, too.
It was recently reported that Clarkson, Hammond and May were struggling to think of a name for their new Amazon Prime show, which is due to air in Autumn this year. It seems that despite this, they had very few problems coming up with a title for this latest endeavour.
There are no reports as yet as to when DriveTribe will be available to access, though it will surely coincide with the start of the new online series later on in the year.
