Ford is introducing upgrades for the Mustang to enhance performance and driving experience, comfort and convenience, as well as offering more personalisation.
The 2.3-litre EcoBoost model will now be available with the Active Valve Performance Exhaust option, which was previously exclusive to the 5.0-litre V8 specification and lets drivers adjust the intensity of the exhaust note.
Meanwhile, the rev-matching technology introduced with the Mustang Bullitt special edition will now be offered on standard 5.0-litre V8 models with six-speed manual gearboxes, allowing for smoother downshifts.
A new B&O Play audio system is also being made available, delivering 1,000 watts through 12 premium speakers.
Finally, two vintage-inspired colours have been created – Velocity Blue and Need for Green – to sit alongside the Dark Highland Green, which is exclusively available on the Bullitt edition car.
The Mustang EcoBoost starts at £36,645 in the UK, while the V8 GT model costs from £41,745.
Roelant de Waard, vice-president of marketing, sales and service at Ford of Europe, said: “Continuous improvement and innovation have been a huge part of Mustang’s success during the past 54 years, which includes 35,000 happy customers in Europe since first going on sale across the region in 2015.
“Our latest upgrades, including rev-matching powertrain technology for sporty, precision gear changes and a premium 1,000-watt B&O Play audio system, deliver even more character and driving appeal for fans of this iconic car.”
