With two Ferrari movies in the pipeline, it has been rumoured that Christian Bale has agreed to play the lead role of Enzo Ferrari in one of the eagerly-anticipated titles.
The film is question is based on Brock Yates’ book ‘Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races’, which will focus on the trials and successes of Mr Ferrari himself.
According to Deadline Hollywood, the film will be directed by Michael Mann. Filming is set to begin in summer 2016 and, although little is known about the plot of the movie, it’s likely to be set in 1957.
In other news, Hollywood star Robert De Niro has also confirmed that he will play the role of Enzo Ferrari in a similar movie, titled ‘Ferrari’.
According to Motor1, De Niro said: “It is an honor and a joy to tell the life of an extraordinary man who revolutionised the automotive world.
"It's a story based on creativity, courage and [is] destined to thrill audiences of every country and every age."
It has been reported that ‘Ferrari’ will be based on Enzo’s autobiography titled ‘Ferrari 80’, covering his life from the early 1940s up to his death in the 1980s.
Supposedly, Clint Eastwood is keen to take on the directing reins in this particular movie, but you’ll have to wait a little longer to find out which one will be hitting the screens first.
