French manufacturer Citroën has unveiled its latest production model – the C3 Aircross.
Due to be officially displayed for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the compact SUV is based on the C3 hatchback that was released late last year.
The model was originally teased as the C-Aircross at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, but Citroën will now be putting it into production to go on sale next year.
At just over four metres long, the C3 Aircross has many styling cues to fit in with many new Citroen models, such as the rounded edges and statement alloys.
Like the C3, the Aircross is very customisable with colour-accented roof rails, headlight surrounds and C-pillar. According to Citroën, UK customers will have the choice of 85 exterior colour combinations, giving the Aircross plenty of personality. But you can tell it has a rugged nature with the chunkier body elements, such as the wheel arches and bumpers.
It is also built to go off-road as well, as it has Citroën’s grip control and hill descent functions.
Citroën claims the Aircross is the most spacious model in the compact SUV segment, with 410 litres of boot space and storage. It will also be available with a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone-charging point, head-up display, active safety brake, park assist and satellite navigation.
The C3 Aircross is being displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show from September 12 to 24.
