A gang of thieves has been caught on CCTV cameras breaking into a secure car park and stripping a Volkswagen Passat Coupe of all of its parts before fleeing in a white van.

The light-fingered group broke into the car park at Dreamer Bedroom and Kitchen Design in Beverly, Yorkshire and stripped the parked car of its wheels, full interior and bonnet.

Time stamps on the CCTV camera reveal that the group were working on the car for around an hour before nonchalantly making off in their van.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "A white Volkswagen Passat Coup? was parked and locked in a secure private business car park when offenders forced entry into the car park.

"Once inside, the offenders steal the wheels from the vehicle and remove the car's full interior as well as its doors and bonnet.

"The group are believed to have used a white van to move the car parts.

"Police are now keen to identify the men on the CCTV and are appealing for the help of the public."

The group, which is said to contain four men, clearly knew what they were doing as all wore gloves and meticulously stripped, stacked and loaded the parts before making off.

The theft happened at around 6am on July 7 but police have only just released the images in attempt to track the thieves down.

A spokesman said: "We are keen to identify the men in the images.

"The thieves appear to have targeted the high-value car and systematically removed specific parts which may then be sold on."

Anyone with information about who the men are or the damage should call Humberside Police on 101, quoting reference number 1984910.
