BMW teases new 7 Series

June 3, 2015 | By | In News, Video

BMW has released an initial teaser video of its all-new 7 Series saloon, ahead of the model’s official unveiling next week.

Due to reach showrooms later this year, BMW has focussed on reducing the weight of its flagship limousine, with extensive use of carbon fibre in its construction promising improved handling, performance and economy.

The 7 Series has traditionally lagged behind its main rival, the Mercedes S-Class, in terms of cabin refinement and passenger comfort, so BMW’s engineers will have been working hard to ensure the best possible experience for both drivers and rear-seat passengers.

The brief teaser footage gives little away, other than the car’s profile and the fact that the 750i model is continued over to the new line-up. The 7 Series will also get BMW’s laser lights, which made their debut on the futuristic i8 supercar.

The 7 Series will be offered with a wide range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, with the more economical offerings, particularly the 730d, likely to prove UK bestsellers. Those who need their executive saloon to have supercar levels of performance will be glad to hear a 6.0-litre V12 model is in the works.

We will bring you more details on the new BMW 7 Series following its unveiling.
