Audi has revealed its updated A5 range, featuring ‘styling enhancements and upgraded infotainment’ among other alterations.

The German manufacturer is bringing its sleek saloon, coupe and cabriolet in line with the rest of its latest models. The front, for example, has been revised and now includes a honeycomb grille which is wider and flatter.

In addition, LED headlights will become standard across the A5 range along with the introduction of this facelift.

Inside, the car gets a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and Audi’s ‘virtual cockpit’ instrument cluster – both now offered as standard. A head-up display is also available as an optional extra.

In terms of powertrains, all engines satisfy the limits of the Euro 6d-temp emissions standards.

Mild hybridisation is present throughout the line-up of petrol and diesel units, with the MHEV system recovering energy during deceleration, before storing the energy in a compact lithium-ion battery.

As well as this, like the refreshed S4, the S5 TDI has been introduced in coupe and saloon form. This model variant features a diesel-powered V6 unit packing an impressive 700Nm of torque.

While regular A5s make use a 12-volt electrical system, the S5 TDI utilises a new 48-volt main electrical system.

Order books for the updated Audi A5 will open in late 2019, with first deliveries set to begin in Spring 2020.
