Audi releases images of camouflaged e-tron GT

Before its full reveal at the 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show, Audi has shown camouflaged images of the 2020 e-tron GT.

This concept is set to be the base for a production model that will debut in 2020, and follows on from Audi’s e-tron SUV.

The pictures show the e-tron GT comes with a coupe-like design, four doors and sporty bumpers, as well as dished wheels and a camouflage design similar to its SUV predecessor.

In many ways, it looks like the A7 that was revealed in 2017, with the rear-spanning brake light, hexagonal grille fascia and large inlets on the front end.

The e-tron GT will go on sale in 2020

Unlike the e-tron, the concept comes with conventional wing mirrors rather than the cameras seen on the electric SUV, but the new coupe is likely to include many of the same features – such as energy recovery systems and quattro all-wheel drive.

The e-tron GT is likely to be built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, which is the base for the Porsche Taycan all-electric sports car.

The full model will be revealed this evening, with details of the full production version likely to be released as well. The e-tron GT will go on sale in 2020.

Following on from the e-tron, Audi will be putting the e-tron Sportback on sale in 2019. The German brand will be offering customers 12 all-electric models by 2025.

The Los Angeles Motor Show will be open to the public from November 30 to December 9.
