Audi has unveiled a new performance version of its Q3 and Q3 Sportback SUVs.

Dubbed the RS Q3, it’s the second iteration of the model and can be had either in standard from or with coupe styling with the Sportback.

Under the bonnet, it features Audi’s famed 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder, also utilised in the RS3, producing 395bhp and 480Nm of torque. This is hooked up to a seven-speed S-tronic transmission sending power to all four wheels through the world-renowned Quattro all-wheel drive system.

Getting from 0-60mph takes just 4.3 seconds and the top speed is limited to 155mph. That can be extended to 174mph as an option.

The RS Q3 sits 10mm lower to the ground than the regular car. With regards to optional extras, an RS sport suspension plus setup with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) is available.

Styling-wise, it’s noticeably more aggressive than the standard Q3. There’s a gloss black honeycomb grille, alongside boomerang-shaped blades on the bumper. Inside, the RS Q3 comes with the Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, replacing traditional dials, that can be upgraded to include shift lights.

Both the Audi RS Q3 and RS Q3 Sportback are set to go on sale early 2020, with pricing yet to be announced. The two will be available to order from October 2019, though.
