This is Renault’s new Wind Coupe-Roadster, which you can order later this month and be driving by July. The car, which Renault says is pitched to compete against Peugeot’s 207 CC drop-top and Mazda’s Roadster Coupe, is based on the Twingo city car. But, unlike that model, it has just two seats and a clever flip-over roof that gs from closed to fully open in just 12 secs. The car will be offered with two engines, the 1.6 133bhp turbocharged petrol unit from the Renaultsport Twingo and the 1.2 100bhp motor (also petrol) from the Twingo GT. There’ll be two trim levels – Dynamique and Dynamique S – plus, at launch, a limited-edition Collection model that’ll top the range. A powered roof is standard on all models, though to get alloy wheels and auto-on lights and wipers you’ll need the Dynamique S. The Collection also features leather heated seats, extra chrome, and aluminium pedals. Prices will run from £15,500 to £18,200.
