Audi has updated its Q3 crossover with a new engine and trim level.
Available from £23,870 on the road, the new 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine marks a new entry point into the Q3 range. It will be available in conjunction with SE and S line trim levels.
The new engine develops 148bhp, which is sent to the front wheels only, via a six-speed manual transmission or optional seven-speed twin-clutch automatic.
Despite the combination of small engine with a relatively large car, the 1.4-litre Q3 doesn’t embarrass itself in the performance stakes. The 0-62mph sprint takes 9.2 seconds (8.9 with the automatic gearbox), and the car will keep on accelerating up to 124mph.
Its economy figures are equally impressive, returning 47.9mpg on the combined cycle, and emitting 137g/km in CO2.
At the other end of the price range, a new top-of-the-line trim level, called S line Plus, has been introduced.
Available on four-wheel-drive 2.0-litre petrol and diesel models, the new trim level carries a £2,350 price premium over the previously range-topping S line models.
For that you’ll get larger 19-inch alloy wheels in a five-spoke design, rear tinted windows and a choice of new metallic paint finishes.
S line Plus carries a £2,350 price premium over the standard S line trim but customers are treated to bigger wheels and sat nav
Inside, the cabin gets Alcantara and leather seats as standard, as well as cruise control, Audi parking system plus and sat nav with a 6.5-inch colour display. This is on top of the already extensive S line specification, which includes a sports body-kit, lowered suspension, LED daytime running lights and Bluetooth connectivity.
On the road prices for S line Plus models start at £31,835. Alternatively you can search our classifieds for a used Audi Q3 here.
