Volvo has released the pricing and specification of its upcoming V90 estate car.
The new V90 is set to become one of Volvo’s most popular models to date, offering drivers an unprecedented level of quality and safety, as well as the very latest technology.
The V90 will be initially offered with the choice of two 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engines in two trim levels, Momentum and Inscription.
The more powerful of the two units, the D5 PowerPulse, produces 235bhp and use compressed air to spool a turbo at low revs, therefore overcoming turbo lag that plagues smaller diesel engines. This is coupled to a four-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
As standard, entry level Momentum cars feature leather upholstery, climate control and keyless entry. LED headlights are also included as standard, adding to an impressive list of included equipment.
Also included is Pilot Assist, when activated, keeps a set speed or distance in relation to the car in front, and will automatically brake and accelerate according to the speed of the traffic. It will also give gentle steering inputs at motorway speeds.
Adding to the autonomous feautures is City Safety. This sees automatic emergency braking added to the comprehensive list of safety features included on the V90. The system also incorporates a world-first large-animal detection system. This limits the chance of colliding with a larger animal, such as a deer or a horse, when travelling at night.
An optional Xenium pack adds a 360-degree parking camera, as well as Park Assist Pilot, which will automatically park a car when it senses a free space.
The V90 is available to order now for a base price of £34,555.
