Suzuki has released an all-new hatchback – the Baleno.
Offered with either a 1.0-litre or 1.2-litre petrol engine, the Baleno is Suzuki’s latest offering designed to appeal to those looking for low-cost and affordable driving.
With prices starting at £12,99 for the base SZ-T, the Baleno offers excellent value for money, with satellite navigation and air conditioning fitted as standard to all models. Drivers will also see Bluetooth and a DAB radio included in all trim levels.
Larger than the popular Swift hatchback, the Baleno is better for those who want more interior and boot space. It’s also an incredibly safe car, thanks to six airbags.
Drivers looking for a hybrid vehicle should look no further than the SHVS, which stands for Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki. This is a mild hybrid system that works in conjunction with the 1.2-litre combustion engine to achieve excellent economy figures. Drivers will see an average consumption figure of 70.6mpg, while emitting just 94g/km.
However, even the standard 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine returns impressive economy figures of 57.6mpg and emissions of 115g/km. Despite this, the 1.0-litre turbo can hit 62mph in just 11.4 seconds with a manual gearbox, or 11.0 with the automatic.
Top-level trim SZ5 brings with it automatic climate control, rear electric windows and adaptive cruise control. A 4.2-inch colour trip display is added to the already well-equipped small car.
The all-new Baleno goes on sale from June 1 in the UK, offered with a variety of finance options to suit every buyer.
