Spanish car maker launches its Ford Mondeo challenger soon. Prices match rivals' and you get a lot for your cash.
Seat has released prices for its new Mondeo- and Passat-rivalling car, the Exeo. The four-door saloon arrives in showrooms within the new few months, priced from £17,740. That makes the entry model dearer than the Mondeo and Vauxhall’s new Insignia family saloon, but a few hundreds of pounds cheaper than the equivalent Volkswagen, the Passat.
In keeping with Seat’s sporty image, the top-flight model will offer a 197bhp 2.0 turbocharged petrol engine and sports suspension, while other engine options will include 2.0 turbodiesels producing 140bhp and 170bhp. All will transmit power via a six-speed manual gearbox.
There will be four trim levels – S, SE, SE Lux and Sport. All will have alloy wheels, two-zone climate controlled air conditioning, cruise control and somewhere to connect your iPod. Prices for the 2.0 TDi 170 SE Lux, which adds leather seats and bi-xenon lamps, amongst other goodies, will top out at £21,340.
