New Range Rover Evoque teased with design inspired art installation

The all-new Range Rover Evoque is to be revealed on 22ndNovember, and in the run up to that, Land Rover has teased its design with four wire form sculptures.

The full-scale models have been placed around London and gave passers by a glimpse of the latest iteration of Land Rover’s compact SUV.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover chief design officer, said; “The wire forms have been created to preview the new Evoque – which is the embodiment of Range Rover’s modernist design approach.”

The 1:1 scale wire forms feature a rising roofline and high window line that gives a coupe-like silhouette.

The Land Rover design team, who were responsible for the art installation, are the same team tasked with creating the shape of the 2019 Evoque.

Since the original Evoque’s release in 2010, the baby Range Rover (as it’s been dubbed) has picked up over 225 international awards and sold more than 750,000 units.

Land Rover describes the outgoing car as “a global success story,” and the manufacturer has promised this new one will introduce “new standards of design, capability, and sustainability.”

The colourful design wire forms signal the countdown to the global premiere in London, which can be seen on Land Rover’s Facebook and YouTube channels at 19:45 GMT on 22ndNovember.

Along with the reveal, the order books for the new Range Rover Evoque will open at the time of the world debut.
