DS has announced a new Performance Line trim that celebrates the fact that “the last year has been all about performance” for the French carmaker.
Not only did it release the new DS 3 Performance model and show off the E-Tense, an electric supercar concept, but DS Virgin Racing had a successful season in Formula E, the electric car racing series.
?ric Apode, DS Automobiles’ vice president for products and business development, said: “The ‘DS Performance Line’ offers all the fundamental ingredients of a Grand Tourer, namely style and driving pleasure.”
The Performance Line version of each DS model is distinguishable from other trims by the fact its body colour is contrasted with a black roof, as well as unique gloss black alloy wheels with the DS logo on a red background in the centre cap.
DS Performance’s signature colours of Carmine Red, white and gold can be seen on a variety of components throughout the car, such as the door mirrors and rear spoiler. New Performance Line badges adorn the front doors and bonnet.
The interior receives trim specific to DS Performance Line such as LED lighting. A new style of upholstery can be specified in black Dinamica cloth or a choice of two grades of leather. Other options include the use of Nappa leather, metallic detailing and chrome inserts.
Buyers can also tick a box for the DS brand’s seven-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The DS Performance Line will be made available in the UK from 1 October, 2016.
