Alfa Romeo’s Giulia Quadrifoglio has made its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which opened to the public yesterday and will run until Sunday.
The super saloon is powered by a new 510hp, 600Nm Bi-Turbo V6 petrol engine, and features an eight-speed paddle shift automatic transmission as standard.
Boasting a carbon fibre bonnet, roof, front splitter, rear spoiler, body inserts and aluminium doors and wings, the Giulia Quadrifoglio is designed to go fast.
And speed is indeed its forte. With a 0 to 62mph time of just 3.9 seconds and a top speed of more than 190mph, it promises a thrilling yet sophisticated ride.
Impressively, the car still returns figures of 49mpg on the official extra-urban fuel efficiency cycle, and emissions of 189g/km.
On-the-road pricing for the model will start from £59,000. This includes an extensive spec list, comprising 19-inch Quadrifoglio alloy wheels; sports front bumper with Alfa Active Aero; sports rear bumper with functional diffuser; sports exhaust with four outlets; Alfa Active Suspension and bi-xenon headlamps with LED DRL.
Safety is helpedby the models advanced autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, Alfa Romeo’s new integrated braking system, forward collision warning and a rear-view camera with guide lines.
The cabin is performance-orientated yet comfortable; with Alcantara and leather trimmed special sports seats – the two front of which are heated. A seven-inch TFT instrument cluster hosts Alfa Romeo’s new Uconnect 3D Nav 8.8-inch infotainment system, while DAB radio, dual-zone climate control, automatic lights and wipers and cruise control with speed limiter are all easily controlled from the dash.
